Ms. Liang

Ms. Liang worked as the Vice President of Sales at an international hearing aid manufacturing company in Xiamen, China. The Chinese company opened an office in the U.S. to enhance sales and service to customers in North and South America, and due to her successful experience developing international sales for the company, wished to appoint Ms. Liang to lead the new office. The company retained us to help them obtain an L-1A visa for Ms. Liang to transfer her to the U.S. office.

Our firm clearly demonstrated Ms. Liang's outstanding qualifications as an executive at the Chinese company, and convincingly showed that she and the foreign company meet the requirements for L-1A. However, due to the fact that the new office had only a few employees after being open for over one year, we received an RFE asking for additional evidence showing that such a small office could support an executive or managerial position. Drawing on our long experience with L-1 cases, we crafted a persuasive analysis to show that Ms. Liang's work would consist of managerial duties and decisions, that the other employees were sufficient to avoid burdening her with non-managerial work, and that her leadership contribution was essential for the U.S. office to succeed.

Due to our diligent efforts responding to the RFE, Ms. Liang's L-1 petition was approved in the end, allowing her to come to U.S. to lead the North American office of her company and develop its business in the U.S. and internationally.
