Mr. Zhang was employed by a leading medical equipment supply company headquartered in Beijing, China, which wished to open an office in the U.S. and to appoint Mr. Zhang as the CEO of the U.S. office. The company retained our firm to handle the L-1 visa petition to transfer Mr. Zhang to the new office.
We persuasively demonstrated that Mr. Zhang was an experienced manager and executive who would contribute to the growth of his company¡¯s U.S. subsidiary. However, we were met with a Request for Evidence seeking more information about the structure of the new office. Relying on our profound knowledge of the L-1 visa process, we carefully and thoroughly answered all the points in the RFE and successfully showed that the new office meets the requirements for an L-1 visa.
Due to our expert handling of the case, Mr. Zhang¡¯s L-1 visa petition was ultimately approved, allowing him to take up his position as CEO of his company¡¯s U.S. office.
As the expiration of Mr. Zhang's stay neared, the company wanted to keep him in the U.S. to continue leading and growing the U.S. subsidiary, so they retained us again to file an extension petition for Mr. Zhang's L-1A status. With our insightful understanding of the L-1 requirements, we showed that the two companies still fulfilled the requirements, and that the U.S. company was thriving under Mr. Zhang's leadership and his presence was required to continue its growth. As a result, Mr. Zhang's L-1A extension was approved without an RFE, and moreover was approved in just two weeks.
