LCA Approvals Delayed in H1B Applications
June 30, 2009--The Department of Labor (DOL) has implemented a new iCERT system that affects the processing time of obtaining the H1B labor condition applications (LCAs). The new iCERT system becomes effective on June 30, 2009. From prior practice, the LCAs get approved instantly after the online submission. The new change will increase the timeline for processing a certified LCA. The employer will have to expect to get the LCAs approved up to seven days. Given the addition of at least a few days in processing LCAs, the applications of LCAs should be submitted as early as possible during the H1B application process. |
